Exploring Your Options

Payment is something to consider early when arranging for home health care. CareGivers will help you determine which payment options would best suit your needs. We will also assist with any questions about Medicare or Medicaid eligibility, and refer you to the proper organization to help you further. Whenever possible, we will help with the completion of all paperwork required for third party reimbursement.

Payment Options:

Long Term Care Insurance:  CareGivers works with many Long Term Care Insurance providers.  We can review your policy with you, and help you understand the benefits that are available to you.  We are experienced at billing these providers directly, and we maintain all required documentation.  Some of the providers that we work with include:

Medicare: Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people age 65 or older and certain disabled people under 65. It covers the home health services of nurses, therapists, social workers and home health aides. A physician must provide written orders for care to the providing agency. The CareGivers branch in Erie PA is the only Medicare Certified location.

Medicaid: Medicaid is the medical assistance program for low-income people of all ages who are unable to pay for care and who meet the eligibility guidelines. It is financed by federal, state and local funds, and the services covered are set by federal and state law.  Contact your local Department Of Social Services to learn more.

Managed Medicaid:  CareGivers works with many Managed Medicaid and Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) providers, including Fidelis, Nascentia (formerly VNA Home Care Options), iCircle, Kalos, MVP, and Excellus.  Contact your plan directly to learn more about the benefits available to you.

Private Pay (Out of Pocket): If no third party paid options are available, the client may pay for home health care services directly. We offer a variety of payment plans to meet your needs.

Contracts:  We maintain contracts with the Veterans Administration, Area Offices On Aging, and other community agencies to provide covered home care services.

Workers Compensation:  CareGivers works with the New York State Insurance Fund and other commercial carriers to provide home care services for Workers Compensation cases in NY.
